PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD The Deputy Head of Nursing Education, Development & Regulation is a member of the Nursing Education Team within the Nursing Directorate and is a broad and varied role providing leadership for the provision of innovative and research-led education and workforce development. To have the responsibility for leading on the development of the nursing and midwifery education, training and development strategy in collaboration with the Head of Nursing Education, Development & Regulation. Working closely with Workforce colleagues is key whilst having delegated responsibility to develop career pathways and aligning to national and organisational work steams which includes attracting, recruiting and retaining the workforce for the future. To lead on service redesign which will involve interpreting a range of highly complex facts, comparing a range of options in order to align nursing and midwifery education. Together with the Head of Nursing, the post holder will support the delivery of the wider corporate professional agenda, including the development of innovative strategies for nursing to enable a strong and empowered workforce at all levels that is fit for purpose and equipped to deliver excellence in care standards. Key to the role is to support, deputise and act on behalf of the Head of Nursing Education, Development & Regulation in the delivery of the education and professional agenda. The post holder will lead on delegated strategic and organisational projects including leadership and developing and embedding an organisational education programme for nursing. Representing the Health Board and leading on national projects related to workforce and education is key and whilst assisting with shaping the nursing direction and strategy and supporting the development of a culture which is open and honest and empowers organisational innovation, creativity and learning. To provide expert advice in the absence of the Head of Nursing regarding professional and regulation issues.
