Learning Mentor - SEN students
£11.63 ph
Sunderland
Permanent - term time only
Brook Street Social Care are looking for a Learning Mentor to support SEN students aged 16-18 at our client's College in Sunderland.
About the role:
- Provide learning mentor support to students with learning difficulties and or disabilities, emotional and behaviour needs
- Assist with detailed assessments, monitoring and review of support strategies
- To carry out instructions from the Learning Support Co-ordinator, and liaise on a day-to-day basis with teaching staff responsible for the courses involved
- Actively encourage students to be independent
- To participate in the continuous professional development and training that will enhance personal growth
You will have:
Learning Support/Care qualification (or equivalent) or significant experience in this field
Experience of supporting individuals with SEND or additional learning needs
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic IT skills and have the confidence in using IT on an everyday basis
Supporting/caring disposition
- Take appropriate responsibility for PREVENT and the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and/or vulnerable adults
