Job description


Are you an experienced CSW or Nursing Associate looking for a new career opportunity in our research delivery team?

Or are you an administrator that wishes to utilise your existing skills and develop clinical skills in research?

The research department has a vacancy for a Band 4 Research Assistant to support research nurses and practitioners with a portfolio of clinical trials and research studies. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including experienced medical, nursing, administrative and support staff supporting an exciting range of studies.

Assist the research nurse/practitioners with clinical and administrative tasks related to studies

Ensuring that the clinical trial protocols are adhered to.

Arranging appropriate investigations and clinic visits

Work according to Good Clinical Practice and research governance standards for clinical trials.

Conduct all trial-related procedures in accordance with trial protocol

Assist with the processing and shipment of research samples

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
