Job description
Step Teachers are currently working at an excellent secondary school on the north coast of Devon for an English Teacher on a long-term position. This position is to start in Jan 2024.
The students are all the inheritors of the great ideas, writings, and discoveries of the past and the young people of Plymouth have a right to learn this knowledge. By learning the curriculum, the pupils will be provided with the knowledge and skills to suceed in life and make a positive contribution to society. Role:
Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English
Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
Maintain an organized and professional classroom with all of the associated resources
Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these
Requirements:
Hold QTS or equivalent qualification for teaching in secondary school
Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching English at secondary school level
Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
A relevant English related degree is desirable
SEND experience is desirable
