Job description
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Stockport. As a Senior Product Engineer you role will be to lead the development of innovative products that redefine water-based experiences. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of technical expertise, a proven track record in product design, and the ability to drive projects from conception to launch. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's offerings and driving excellence in design and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the industrial design team to make their aesthetic aspirations possible
- Working to ensure the products are to the highest quality standards
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and manufacturing, to translate product concepts into tangible designs
- Continually look for ways to refine, improve and value engineer the products
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering their growth and development in tackling complex design challenges.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing partners to optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Address production issues, provide technical support, and lead initiatives for process enhancement
- Apply value engineering principles to identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining or improving product quality
- Develop comprehensive testing and validation protocols to ensure product performance, durability, and adherence to industry standards.
- Oversee the approval process, ensuring products meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Initiate and guide research and development initiatives to explore new product opportunities and elevate existing offering
Requirements
- A motivated and adept engineer with a passion for revolutionizing product design and user experiences
- A proven track record in product design and the ability to drive projects from conception to launch
- Experience with Solidworks or Similar 3D CAD software
- Organised, with attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications OR Qualified by experience
- Experience in high end bespoke washroom products (sinks, basins, taps etc) supplying to the commercial industry is highly desirable Or a transferrable industry (high-end kitchens)
Hours - Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm (3pm finish on Friday)
