Specialist Transport Team Leader (Public Transport)
3-6-month interim contract to start March 2024
Northwest England
£400-450 per day
Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Hybrid working
Full time

Reporting into the Specialist Transport Manager, you will be responsible for a team of 4 transport officers. Leading the day-to-day services of specialist/public transport, you will be responsible for service planning and delivery. You will have a proven track record in managing transport services specifically passenger services. You will have worked within a local authority setting and be operating at Team Lead level.

Your Role as SEND Transport Operations Manager:

• To lead and manage the Specialist Transport Service within Public services.

• To assist the Service Manager in the delivery of the Service’s functions and responsibilities and to deputise as necessary and when required.

• To manage and control budgets, fees and income assigned for the delivery of their teams’ functions to ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided within the resources available.

• To manage the budget monitoring process providing management information as required to enable delivery of the service, including the correct allocation and drawdown of government funding (e.g. Bus Service Improvement Plan)

• To plan, review and manage Team activities in accordance with Health and Safety, legal, technical, and professional requirements.

Your previous experience as an Team Leader on Transport Services:

• In-depth experience at a team lead level both operational functions and strategic service needs within Passenger Services/Public Transport
  •Demonstrate ability to use data against performance targets, appropriately managing changes to processes and contractual arrangements to maintain compliance.
  •Must demonstrate a high level of operational experience in a Local Authority setting
