Job description

What you will do in your working day

Working within the internal IT department you will work with relevant departments in order to pre-empt and solve a range of IT issues. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take on their first step within IT and establish a career in the industry. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Information Technology and able to provide a hands-on approach to troubleshoot a range of hardware issues for the organisation. Duties & Responsibilities: • Ensure that work queues are fulfilled on time and within financial constraints • Ensure IT resources are allocated appropriately so they meet customer and business needs • Provide regular updates to the Service Desk Manager regarding delivery on SLAs and KPIs • Ensure tickets are completed and closed in line with company procedures and customer SLAs • Ensure all customer queries are handled appropriately • Liaising with third parties and customers regarding incident resolution and requests • Support the implementation of new processes and policies that relate to Service Operations • Management of goods in /Out for IT and Telecoms • Internal IT support, including troubleshooting and asset management. • Building, configuring, and troubleshooting incoming customer hardware for repairs. • Working alongside our Field Engineers for on site jobs.

CORE MODULES The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician. The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available. Computer Fundamentals & Security Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting. Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services An introduction to the fundamental cloud concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking modules, devices and protocols. Communication in Support Support in IT requires good communications skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.
