Job description

SEN Support Worker / PA in Surrey, KT7. A full-time opportunity available for a creative, active, and fun SEN Support Worker / PA to assist an intelligent, sociable 11 year old girl with a great sense of humour! £36,300.00 + Gross per Annum

Wage/Salary: £18.50 Gross per Hour | £36,300.00 + Gross per Annum
Driver Essential? Yes, manual vehicle for use whilst on duty
Essential: Experience supporting a client with a physical disability, non-smoker/vaper. *Female applicants only.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Term-time: Monday to Friday 7.00am – 9.00am then, 3.00pm to 8.00pm. School Holidays: 12hour shifts (Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 8.00pm), no weekends. 38 hours on average per week.

About this client/child: Penny is 11 years old, and Snap has had the pleasure of working with her for a number of years. Penny will shortly be moving to her new fully adapted home in Thames Ditton living with her mother and 2 siblings. Penny is a sociable and bring young lady who loves to have fun! Penny has Cerebral Palsy, presenting as hyperkinetic movements and is a wheelchair user, although indoors Penny is very efficient getting around on her knees or doing the bottom shuffle. With support Penny can complete manual transfers, and to support her expressive communication she uses Makaton and AAC on her iPad.

Overview of role: Penny’s SEN Support Worker / PA will provide holistic 1:1 support outside of school hours, assisting Penny with her morning and afterschool routine, including personal care, accessing activities, social engagements, life admin etc. The key aspect of the role is to facilitate, foster and continually promote Penny’s independence skills and overall development. You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with a full multidisciplinary team, implementing therapy and supporting Penny to achieve her set targets and goals. During the school holidays, there is plenty of scope for the SEN Support Worker to plan days out, activities and the opportunity to support Penny on holidays abroad (expenses would be covered). Any additional hours worked outside the core hours will be paid at the hourly rate of £18.50 Gross per Hour

Who this job would suit: An excellent full-time role for a *female, SEN Nanny or an experienced Support Worker / PA who enjoys working 1:1 in a family setting. You will be proactive, an excellent communicator, bringing new idea’s, exploring new interests and advocate for Penny. Please only apply if you are a confident driver, as Penny has her own vehicle (manual drive) and does not rely on public transport.

What’s great about this job: Full training, mandatory and bespoke both in the day-to-day and therapy aspects of the role. Ongoing support and supervision provided by Penny’s case management team.
