Vacancy: Early Years Practitioner (including Meal Time Assistant)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week; 8.45am – 3.45pm, Monday to Friday. including 5 hrs per week Meal Time Assistant

Pay: EYP: NJC Grade C5 – 7 (£12.18 – £12.59 per hour; FTE £23,500 – £24,294) depending on experience and qualifications held; MTA NJC Grade A2 (£11.59 per hour)

Appointment Type: Permanent; term time only; 38 weeks per year

Start date: 16 April 2024

Little Acorns is based at Axminster Community Primary Academy. Our Early Years provision is at the heart of our school and provides the opportunity for children aged 2 – 5 years to flourish as part of a foundation stage unit.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person who is passionate about Early Years and ensuring children get the best possible start.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 early years & childcare qualification and should:

• Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to engage with children, parents and colleagues
• Have the ability to provide support for learners to engage in all aspects of their programs
• Have the ability to work in a way that creates a positive, fun and engaging learning environment
• Be able to work under the direction of the Foundation Stage Supervisor as well as use their initiative
• Be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of safeguarding and welfare procedures
• Hold or be willing to undertake Paediatric First Aid training
• Have an understanding of and commitment to positive behaviour management.
