Our client is a well known Thame employer who look after their staff, offer hybrid working, with 2/3 days working from the office each week. They are a close knit team but are growing quickly due to their success within their market.
Job Description
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for processing invoices in the ERP system, reconciling supplier statements, managing 2-3 Accounts Payable Assistants, and working with and supporting the AP Manager. The role-holder will also be responsible for liaising and resolving supplier queries with the depots and suppliers. The duties will include:
- Processing supplier Invoices, Credit notes, and payments to suppliers
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
- Posting payments
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Managing 2-3 AP assistants
- Maintaining the Accounts Payable Inbox
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Maintain supplier files.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to enquiries with liaison through commercial.
- Assist with month end closing.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Accounts Payable Supervisor will be:
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software. Especially Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems (currently Access Dimensions used).
- Previous demonstrable, practical relevant experience in a senior accounts payable position, that required regular reporting.
- Good Communicator and Team Worker. Outgoing and comfortable on the phone.
- Highly motivated and able to work under their own initiative.
- Persistent, resilient, organised, flexible, and pragmatic.
- Solid grasp of double entry book-keeping and basic accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proactive with a strong personality who can work towards tight deadlines.
What's on Offer
The salary on offer is between £32,000 and £35,000 dependent on level of experience. A benefits package and hybrid working is on offer with 2/3 days working in the office in Thame, with 2/3 days remote working.
