Cover Supervisor role to start on February 2024 - Hassocks, West Sussex

Are you a strong and resilient personality, who is an aspiring teacher or already has experience or working with children?

Perhaps you're a retired teacher or former military personnel?

In this role, you will experience some testing behaviour and will have to think on your feet, but you'll also gain some incredible experience to aid your development as well as influence the development of the pupils. This is an 'outstanding' school and the feedback I've received from candidates who have been there reflects that. It's close to Hassocks train station so it's easily accessible from Three Bridges and Brighton.

Core Responsibilities of the Role:

* Register pupils within class
* Cover classes of children up to the age of 16 - you will not be required to teach, but support children with work that has been pre-set by the regular teacher
* Be prepared to set additional tasks for over-performing children
* Support individual children when you don't have a class to cover
* Manage the behaviour within class
* Be vigilant of any safeguarding concerns

Key Requirements:

* You will not be barred from working with children
* You will have eligibility to work in the UK and return a clear DBS check (we can support you with this)
* Experience of working with children or a strong level of education to support children up to GCSE standard
* You will have a 'can do' attitude and offer versatility
