As a Lead Packaging Technologist , you’ll work as part of both an exciting Research and Development function and a Cross-Functional Packaging End to End Team you will be driving the agenda for sustainable packaging by incorporating the Kellanova Better Days promises, up- coming packaging legislation, and packaging material developments to develop and execute a Sustainable Packaging Roadmap.

You may also support other Innovation or cost-out projects providing Packaging input such as validation of trials and final specifications.

Your role will be based between our   Media City, Manchester Office  & Trafford Pilot Plant on a hybrid work schedule and on occasion will travel nationally and internationally.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead or support multiple packaging projects and programs to deliver sustainable packaging solutions whilst ensuring that the packaging is compliant with all relevant food safety requirements & quality standards.
• Lead a team member primarily responsible for Sustainable Packaging activity.
• Develop and monitor the Kellogg's Sustainable Packaging Roadmap ensuring key stakeholder requirements are incorporated in the plan.
• Communicate progress against our Sustainability goals using criteria such as Packaging Reduction (Tonnes), % Recyclability of our portfolio, CO2 reduction v target.
• Represents Kellogg’s Technical Packaging as a Sustainability Subject Matter Expert (SME).

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

• Strong understanding of packaging development, materials, and processes.
• Experience of developing and designing packaging that has led to a positive change in a company’s Environmental footprint.
• Have an understanding of the key legislation affecting Sustainable Packaging design.
• Understand sustainability metrics and data requirements, end of life designation (compostable, recyclable, reusable, landfill), sourcing and content.
• Handling data and applying statistical methodology to reach conclusions and make recommendations.
• Able to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understand packaging specifications and quality requirements.
