Commissioning Engineer Role:

As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll work under the guidance of our client's Commissioning Manager, contributing to projects across the UK with occasional international assignments. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the efficient and thorough commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial refrigeration systems.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary liaison between customers and the project team during commissioning phases, leading technical discussions.
• Review engineering and vendor documentation, coordinating activities with various departments and subcontractors.
• Prepare and execute commissioning procedures and programs.
• Support installation teams in meeting project timelines and budgetary requirements.
• Develop site-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) in the absence of the Site Manager.
• Maintain strong customer relationships, serving as a point of contact in the absence of site management.
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks as needed and conduct comprehensive electrical inspections and I/O checks.
• Conduct functional testing of control panels, instrumentation, and VSD drive units configuration/setup.
• Proactively identify and address issues during commissioning to prevent delays and cost overruns.
• Report system issues to the commissioning and technical departments and ensure timely resolution.
• Verify system designs through comprehensive testing and provide test results for documentation.
• Communicate any changes affecting as-built drawings, diagrams, and electrical specifications.
• Complete project Test and Commissioning documentation as directed by the commissioning manager.
• Provide familiarization training to customers before project handover and assist in the handover process.

Skills/Qualifications Required:

• Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with contractors.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, piping isometrics, GA drawings, electrical, and electronic schematic diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities for mechanical and electrical control systems.
• Competence in testing and validating electrical installations.
• Understanding of variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, and industrial compressor packages.
• Relevant certifications such as CSCS Card, ECITB Safety Passport, City & Guilds F-Gas 2079, City & Guilds Ammonia Handling 2078, CO2 experience.
• Preferably Level 3 electrical installations BS7671 18th Edition.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with permit to work systems.
