Fixed term contract 18 months
Overview:
An exciting opportunity to contribute to and help develop how the Legal and Compliance team operates like a business and provides its legal services in the most efficient and productive way.
The main function of the role will be to have responsibility for the ongoing development and integration of the various legal technology platforms, tools and systems utilised by the team to drive productivity and set up the team for success for working in the digital age . The role will also have responsibility for the management of legal processes as well as access to information from across the team. It will also take the lead on reporting and financial administration to ensure that the team provides the business with the information and support it needs.
What you will do:
Legal Tech Platforms
- Owner of the relationships with the various third-party technology platform providers -Apperio and Osborne Clarke Solutions and Thomson Reuters (High Q).
- Working with key stakeholders in the team and wider business, helping to create roadmaps for the ongoing development and interoperation of those platforms to support the team on its technology journey.
- Proactively identify opportunities across the team for ongoing improvement of these tech platforms. Co-ordinating, prioritizing and working with service providers to deliver developments and improvements to the legal platforms use by the Legal and Compliance team. In particular, working with Keystone (the team's High Q based platform) to improve operational use, to streamline reporting, improve data capture and promoted accessibility and use.
Legal Processes and Information
- As owner of the various processes owned by the Legal and Compliance team, work with the relevant members of the team to ensure the ongoing fitness for purpose of those processes as well as identifying areas for improvement.
- Identify and manage access to information across the team to ensure that the right information captured in the right platform.
Financial Administration
- Ensure that the team improves the way in which it manages its financial processes, working with Finance and the external law firms by delivering effective financial governance and an efficient end to end solution to actively demonstrate a controlled cost environment and (where possible) maximise cost saving opportunities.
Law Firm Management
- Ensure that the Legal and Compliance team provides the right reporting to demonstrate what the team is doing as well as to support the business. Make sure that this reporting is fit for purpose making use of the various legal tech platforms.
- Raising awareness of data capture, coordinating and helping to deliver various reporting requests received by Legal and Compliance team using our Legal Platforms.
Compliance and Security
- To support and contribute actively to health and safety, environmental, business continuity and information security arrangements that meets our obligations to our customers
The ideal candidate:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience; in-house experience law degree or CILEX qualification is desirable
- Experience of managing/working with IT systems
- Experience of working with, manipulating and presenting data and data driven reporting
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build strong working relationships and partner with colleagues across the business.
- Passion for technology and continuous improvement
- Confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organised with a strong ability to prioritise and juggle competing deadlines
- Excellent IT skills
- Demonstrates an innovation mindset
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Project management experience
- Some legal experience and knowledge
