UX Engineer required to help build new and engaging user interfaces for new and existing applications within the KCS portfolio. Working with development teams throughout the group to bring consistency and quality in terms of style, appearance and function. 

This role represents the first step on a desire to build a UX team and would suit a candidate who would like to grow the role of UX and user interface design within a broad portfolio of solutions across various technologies and methods of delivery. 

Key Responsibilities:

Duties include:

• Support and advise on technology and design decisions
• Work closely with Product Management to align UX/UI with overall product strategy
• Work closely with QA and test automation teams to ensure that any output is suited for both manual and automated testing strategies
• Conduct user persona research to inform and enhance new and existing features 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to agree requirements and deliver user-centric designs into the development teams
• Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, mock-ups and interactive prototypes, optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces
• Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features 

Key Requirements

• Track record of building world class user interfaces, aligned with modern web design principles and best practices
• Extensive experience with the entire PDLC, with particular focus on agile front-end development
• Demonstrable working knowledge of UX principles and when to apply them
• Experience with use of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, Adobe suit, etc and the ability to work, independently, to create designs and wireframes
• Good understanding of HTML and CSS
• Experience in optimising applications for a wide variety of devices and screen sizes
• Strong communication skills and the ability to express new ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to understand business requirements and turn them into efficient, scalable solutions 

Desired Skills:

• Experience in building accessible web applications
• Experience in localising web applications for different languages and markets
• Track record of collaborating with Product, development and other stakeholders
• Working understanding of RESTful APIs and how they are used in modern web applications
• The desire to knowledge share and mentor others
• Familiarity with modern native mobile application development
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools and processes
