Job Description
What will you be doing?
As a Systems engineer you will be performing on one of our major engineering projects in Cheadle. The role is on a hybrid basis, which requires consultants to be in the office at least 2 days per week on site. As a System Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to assist in the design, development, and implementation of complex defence systems. You will also be contributing to our development and growth within the Defence industry.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Supporting the high level management and strategy to support the nuclear subs
- Maintenance management of Dreadnaught and Astuste replacement
- Assist in requirements analysis, system architecture design, and trade-off studies to ensure optimal system performance and functionality.
- Support the integration of various subsystems, components, and modules within larger defence systems.
- Participate in system testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.
- Aid in the preparation of technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and reports.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during the development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Stay informed about advancements in defence technologies and industry best practices.

Experience, skills and qualifications
required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong passion for defence technologies and a desire to contribute to the development of advanced defence systems.
- Experience across the V. systems thinking.
- Maintenance and ILS. Obsolescence, production of tech docs, data, disposal, lower complexity ILS tasks (normal defence profile)
- Experienced in using DefStan 00-600/00-043, supporting the development of Supportability Case reports/reliability/ARM analysis, FMECAs, Reliasoft tools,
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Eligibility for security clearance
