Glasgow
As a Barclays Compliance Assurance, you will support Compliance in achieving its mission, purpose and objectives by providing an assurance capability to meet the demands of a world class Compliance function. Undertaking assurance reviews you will use your expertise to assess and report on Conduct and/or Reputational Risk Management, behaviours and attitudes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team with a mission to innovate, drive change and deliver excellence.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted. At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business. What will you be doing?
• Taking a proactive approach to identify and agree review coverage and developing the scope of reviews
• Ensuring adherence to the Compliance Assurance methodology in the execution of reviews (throughout planning, testing, and reporting) and monitoring and validation
• Designing, supporting and delivering reviews that provide solid insight and value by identifying risks and issues and examples of good practice
• Being proactive in managing your review to meet the planned timescale, resolving or escalating issues and blockers that materially impact the progress of reviews
• Utilising effective Stakeholder Management and Leadership, including formal stakeholder engagement and management at all levels of the business
• Keeping up to date on business developments, regulatory change, internal policies and Compliance objectives so that Compliance Assurance work remains relevant and timely
• Being responsible for aiding continual review and development of the annual review plan through assessing the conduct, reputational and regulatory risks of existing business activities
• Building, developing and maintaining respected relationships between Compliance Assurance, Business Oversight Compliance and Key Stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
• Developed investigative skills with the capability to identify key risks and areas of non-conformance with regulatory and legislative requirements
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to deliver high quality work in a timely and structured manner
• Advanced Report Writing skills
• Working knowledge and understanding or prior experience of working with an Automated Assurance team to increase the use of data driven testing and data analytics within reviews
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience in Financial Crime in either Testing, Advisory, Audit or Legal capacity
• Familiar with Financial Crime (BSA, AML, OFAC, ABC etc.) laws and regulations and other pertinent regulatory guidance in order to assess Financial Crime Risks within Barclays Bank
• Driven and focused on professional and personal learning and development
• Bachelor’s degree preferable or equivalent applied experience
