Head of Primary Learning Support

St. George’s School seeks a dynamic Head of Primary Learning Support to work across our Primary schools, to start in August 2024.

The School

Serving the international community in Duisburg-Düsseldorf for over 20 years, St. George’s School combines an enriching curriculum with family orientated care. The school has grown from small beginnings into a thriving community of over 650 pupils, aged from 2-18 and representing a broad range of nationalities.

The British National Curriculum is taught throughout the school, and we offer the IB Diploma in our Sixth Form.

The Location

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of Primary Learning Support to work across our primary school.

Our SEND provision is a developing area of the school and we are seeking a well qualified individual to support us in the future development of our SEND team. Alongside monitoring the provision for pupils with special needs, the role will involve ensuring appropriate assessment and referral, as well as significant work with teaching staff to ensure that needs are met in the classroom. Coordination with Heads of Section and faculty leaders will be a key part of the role, as well as supporting teachers in their understanding and management of specific pupils’ needs.

All applicants should hold a valid teaching qualification. We consider a degree in education (e.g. B.Ed./M.Ed./Lehramt), or postgraduate teaching certificate (e.g. PGCE) as valid. English language teaching certificates (e.g. TEFL/IELTS/CELTA) are not sufficient.
