Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Ensure accurate and up to date H&S records are maintained.
- Keep the School Diary Planner up to date, and assist the School
- Assist in the investigation and reporting of any incidents, accidents, or near misses, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Assist with conducting regular checks and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
- Implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training.
- Stay updated with the latest health and safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards.
- Participate in emergency response drills and contribute to the development of emergency management plans.
- IT / Data Systems Lead
- Report to the SBM on all IT matters.
- Set up and maintain, new and existing data spreadsheets e.g. sickness spreadsheet, H&S spreadsheet, and absence spreadsheet.
- Organise, analyse and prepare data reports for the SBM and Head.
- Build and create forms for staff and parent data collection.
- Manage and maintain the school's IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and databases.
- Main point of contact between the school and IT provider (Schoolcare), IT helpdesk and technician.
- Maintain the IT log to prioritise and organise the Schoolcare technician’s weekly workload.
- Provide technical support to students, teachers, and staff for IT-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely manner to minimize disruption to teaching and learning.
- Coordinate with external vendors for IT equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Review items that need to be disposed of and arrange for disposal in line with relevant regulation.
- Collaborate with the SBM, Computing Lead and Schoolcare to plan and implement technology and facility upgrades or improvements.
- Manage, monitor and quality assure all website content, ensuring statutory information is accessible, and website is complaint under current DFE requirements.
- To liaise between SLT and the clerk to the governors to ensure current and ratified policies are available. To maintain a policy log noting review dates and alerting SLT in good time for policy review prior to governor meetings.
- Ensure the school website has the latest, governor ratified policies online.
- To set up and maintain the School’s Intranet – to make sure this is kept up to date with information required by staff in the school/new starters.
- To support the school in the production of all school publications, including the staff handbook. Ensure all letterheads and media are kept up to date with any changes as required.
- To assist headteacher and school business manager with marketing through content creation for website and social media outlets.
- To take photographs/videos during school events and ad-hoc requests.
- Maintain a media collection of relevant images for website use and school publications. Insure these comply with GDPR.
- To take photographs for staff security passes and process the request via the council.
- Set up the hall for collective worship and check that sound and IT is working correctly.
- Collate and curate newsletters and daily staff bulletin.
- Assist and support the main office, senior leaders and teaching staff with admin, phonecalls and reception duties.
- Adhere to school procedures and ensure that staff receive messages (telephone, email, face-to-face) promptly and accurately.

- Level 3 Business Administration qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
