Job description

Salary scale (from 1 April): Range 2/3 £24,176 - £28,788 pa fte plus generous pension scheme

Actual Salary (from 1 April): £19,556 - £23,287 pa pro rata (starting salary commensurate with experience)

Working hours: up to 35 hrs/week, 39 weeks/year (term time only) (hours less than 35 per week can be considered; the above salary is based on a 35 hr working week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our innovative Science team at this 11-18 grammar school for boys, with a co-educational Sixth Form.

The successful postholder will support the use of practical resources and facilities within the Chemistry department for KS3 – KS5, preparing chemical solutions and equipment and supporting teachers in their use.

You will need an A level or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, with the ability to be able to competently prepare practicals for use up to A level. You should also have some experience working within a Science-related role, or have recently completed a Chemistry A level (or equivalent) or degree.

Dr Challoner’s has 1370 students, of which 450 are in the Sixth Form. In November 2019 the school was judged to be Outstanding in a full section 5 inspection under the new Education Inspection Framework.
