Role: Technical Architect
Location: Remote
Salary / Rate of pay: £65,000pa Plus Benefits
Platinum Recruitment is working with a forward thinking technology company providing cloud based SaaS business solutions, they are looking for a skilled Technical Architect to focus on interoperability, reliability and solving difficult problems.
The role is a key strategic appointment with the ability to greatly influence the products built by the company. It is currently the most senior purely technical role within the business.

What's involved?
- Produce best-practice, high quality solution designs for systems and/or processes.
- Investigate solutions to difficult or strategic problems and providing working proof-of-concept solutions.
- Own, extend and maintain the broad architectural design for cloud products.
- Provide technical leadership across all development teams, providing coaching and mentoring for more senior developers if required.
- Keep up to date with industry direction and advancements, helping drive the technical direction of the software development teams.
- Broad technical oversight of technical designs.
- Responsibility for software security posture including secure design and operating practices, 3 rd party component reviews, oversight of penetration testing.
- Contribute to infrastructure decision-making and implementation (Azure resources).
- Contribute to development process (DevOps, source control strategies, TDD, etc).
- Contribute to technical approaches to software testing (not testing itself).
- Liaise with stakeholders at all levels to drive best-practice technical approaches to all relevant systems and solutions.
- Liaise with 3 rd party vendors when required in order to resolve technical issues.
- 3 rd or 4 th line support for production issues.
What you need:
- At least 10 years development experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong experience with C#, JavaScript and other modern development technologies.
- Good experience with asynchronous processing, message brokers and micro services (event-driven architecture).
- Experience with cloud-native technologies (serverless compute, storage and infrastructure), preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Designing, building, securing and interacting with API's.
- Strong knowledge of SOLID principles and system and application architecture patterns.
- Solid database experience using SQL and NoSQL databases and ORM's.
- Good development experience with any contemporary web application framework.
- Strong experience delivering solutions within an Agile environment.
- Knowledge of OWASP and web security best practices.
- Solid experience with source code management, e.g., git.
- Using unit test frameworks (e.g., moq) and knowledge of TDD.
- Experience with system and solution requirements definition (workshops, documents, etc).
- Demonstrable experience interacting with Product Owners and Senior Management.
- Strong experience with Microsoft cloud technologies (Azure functions, Cosmos, B2C).
