Job description
Forming part of the SYNLAB Group, Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff. Lextox provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings. SYNLAB in the UK is a trusted expert in clinical laboratory and medical diagnostic services.
We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory team in Cardiff, on a full time and permanent basis. Duties will mainly include sectioning and completing general laboratory duties without supervision and to the required standard following SOP and working to ISO17025 guidelines.
Hours: 40hrs a week / Mon-Fri / Shift Rota (7am-3:30pm / 8am-4:30pm / 9am-5:30pm)
Role and Responsibilities:
Responsible for making up solutions.
Responsible for SCRAM bracelet cleaning.
Responsible for the daily min/max temperature measurement of the fridges and freezers and ensuring that the balances are checked on a daily basis according to Lextox Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and corresponding forms are completed.
Responsible for the weekly pipette calibration checks and monthly min/max pipette calibration check according to Lextox SOPs and corresponding forms are completed.
Ensuring Lab glassware is clean.
General laboratory housekeeping.
What we’re looking for:
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Superb communicators both written and verbally.
A strong focus on service and quality with an eye for detail and accuracy.
Desirable:
Relevant GCSE qualification.
Previous Laboratory experience.
