Job description
We have a brand new and exciting opportunity for a Patient Safety and Experience Officer to join our Governance and Quality Team! This role is contracted at 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As a Patient and Experience Officer, you will work across all Everyturn services in the promotion, delivery and monitoring of patient safety, risk activity and continuous quality improvement. You will support patient safety initiatives including implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) ensuring a consistent and thorough approach to incident investigations and learning, acting as a key point of contact for matters related to patient safety, experience, and PSIRF. You will assess and develop compliance against national quality standards, including professional and NHS codes, CQC, BACP, APPTS, NICE, IAPT and ISO standards. Key Responsibilities Provide administration of the incident management system, ensuring all incidents are reported, investigated, and lessons are learnt to improve practice. Coordination of reviews and responses to incidents in line with PSIRF, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to national bodies. Ensuring accurate and thorough incident, complaint, safeguarding and service user information is collated, monitored and shared with key managers and leaders. Supporting staff training and awareness sessions and workshops to raise awareness of patient safety, PSIRF, and promoting best practice. Oversee and manage responses to the Central Alerting System and the assurance process for this ensuring that there is close collaboration with relevant staff and departments. Planning and delivering all aspects of the clinical audit and review programme. Supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and involvement, while meeting national standards and regulations. Support registered managers and clinical leads to ensure readiness and compliance against CQC standards and other accredited bodies. Working in close partnership with operational teams, service leads, and patients to identify opportunities for improving involvement, safety and experience. Attending contract and quality ICB meetings where required About you Clinical qualification e.g. Registered Nurse, Psychologist, CBT Therapist, occupational therapist, PWP, Social Worker. Level 2 in Safety Investigation Experience of carrying out clinical audit Experience of planning over short- medium- and long-term timeframes and adjusting plans accordingly. A working knowledge and understanding of the principles of clinical governance, audit, data protection and information governance Understanding a wide range of governance guidelines and their impact on clinical practice Understanding of the clinical, contractual and governance requirements of working within an NHS framework What we offer in return We are proud to have been recognised and certified as a Great Place to Work, which speaks volumes on how much we value our staff members.
