Job description

What you will do in your working day

You will have a real job from day one and make a genuine contribution to the business. Typical weekly tasks will consist of:

• Assisting and/or managing the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents as directed
• Research Safety, Health and Environmental Issues and best practices and review updates of health and safety regulations
• Prepare and maintain records relating to safety, health and environmental matters that comply with legal and workplace requirements, such as Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, Lifting Operation and Lifting Equipment Regulations, Noise at Work Regulations, Hand Arm Vibration Regulations or Environmental Permitting Regulations
• Undertake and/or assist with the monitoring, analysis and reporting of SHE performance
• Support the embedding of Health, Safety & Environmental values and procedures where good communication skills are essential

The training you will be getting

You will work towards a  Level 3 Safety, Health & Environmental apprenticeship standard.

Blended on/off the job training and location to be confirmed.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship programme you will be able to join the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at TechIOSH level.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Best of all, upon successfully completing this two year apprenticeship, provided you've proven yourself to be the right candidate for the job, you will be guaranteed a full-time role with Bakkavor.
