The Platform Engineering Team

The Platform Engineering tribe develop and maintain Auto Trader’s technology platform. Our teams support our engineering community, enabling them to easily create web services, micro-front ends, and data pipelines. We are product teams ourselves, looking after key internal systems, such as our customer data platform and our CRM system.

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to help support and extend our technology platform. You will lead colleagues, producing innovative solutions to problems whilst demonstrating a solid grasp of good system design and architecture. You will manage other engineers, supporting their continuous improvement. You will collaborate with other leads, helping define and deliver a longer-term technical vision.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership: Be a leader and manager, actively building and improving a team.
2. Engineering: Contribute as an engineer yourself; coding, designing, and shaping systems.
3. Recruitment: Support our recruitment process by evaluating candidates at all stages.
4. Support: Directly support other engineers, helping them grow via mentoring, coaching and feedback.
