Blaymires Recruitment is working with a specialist Facades Contractor based near Southampton who is searching for a Senior Designer / Design Manager to join the team.

The company specialises in the design, supply and installation of engineered facades for remedial or new-build projects across the  residential, commercial and educational sectors.

The company has a full order book and is looking for a design professional to join the team. The company already has a senior design manager and are looking for another person to support the team and are open to considering any level of experience from Designer, Senior Designer or Design Manager who has Façade or Cladding experience.

This is a Hybrid role, working in the office two days per week and the rest of time on site in London or from home.

The Role:

• Managing the development process, and the interface with specialist sub-contract design.
• Ensuring designs are developed within the constraints of the contract, the requirements of the output specification, and the commercial objectives.
• Coordinating the whole design process and working closely with the client, employer’s representatives, design team, and legislative bodies.
• Ensuring designs develop in accordance with the requirements of the design, procurement construction programmes, and company procedures.
• Managing the document control process, supported by a document controller.
• Organising design co-ordination and design progress meetings with the design team and sub-contractors and ensuring that design risk assessments are produced.
• Preparing formal progress reports on the design process.
• Maintaining a professional approach with clients and their professional teams, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

Skills/ Experience:

• You will need to have a background in Facade/Cladding.
• Knowledge of  Facade/Cladding/Rainscreen/Teracotta.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
