Job description
The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving the commercial performance of cruise line products across Iglu's UK and where required International markets.
Commercial Managers are responsible for ensuring that customers find the most relevant holidays, at the best value, and with the best proposition. Commercial Managers will work closely with other functions within the business to meet their objectives.

Iglu.com, is a successful and award winning online travel agency specialising in Ski and Cruise holidays. Through our award winning brands Iglu Cruise, Planet Cruise and Iglu Ski, we provide expert service and exceptional ski and cruise holidays to locations around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering the budget for passengers and gross margin for specific cruise lines,
- Working and communicating with other departments to meet their own and the teams targets,
- Managing day-to-day trading relationships with cruise line suppliers to:
- Understand trading performance, opportunities and improvements,
- Agree specific actions to meet customer demand and supplier requirements
- Negotiate the best prices & most exclusive deals in conjunction with the global supply team,
- Be the first to market with campaigns, launches and new products,
- Represent the company and brand in an appropriate way,
- Analysing competitor and trading data to develop insights into trading performance to:
- Execute changes to pricing, proposition and website merchandising to hit targets,
- Formulate procing and trading strategies to gain competitive advantage,
- Understand effectiveness of supplier and internal campaigns and execute improvements,
- Working with the product team to maximise opportunities and minimise risk on tailor made products,
- Ensuring commercial website content is current, factually correct and updated as fast as possible,
- More senior individuals will also have responsibility for managing small teams of people,
- More senior individuals will be involved and/or lead strategic company projects.
The Person:
- Strong demonstrable commercial awareness, preferably gained in a cruise/travel setting,
- Able to work in a deadline-driven, fast-pasted environment to deliver against commercial objectives,
- Confident and analytical approach to problem solving and decision making,
- Able to communicate and negotiate confidently & professionally both internally & externally,
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently and manager work of others,
- Self-motivated with a positive outlook with an enthusiastic can-do approach to work.
