Principal Resourcing are seeking to recruit an aspirational 1:1 Achievement Support Assistant to join one of our supportive Specialist Provision Schools based in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire.
The full-time role is available with immediate start for the right applicant and is expected to become permanent. You will be provide learning activities on a 1:1 basis for a pupil with complex medical needs, under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. The role will also include supporting the pupil with their medical needs, with care and dignity at all times and communicating effectively with parents and carers.
You will ideally have experience of supporting pupils with SEN and be committed to working with others to maximise the educational and social opportunities available for children and young people who often are the most vulnerable. The Specialist Provision School offers a nurturing and supportive learning environment in which pupils are encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability through adapted learning and intervention.
You can expect to earn up to £100 per day for this role depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will:
- Support the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of pupils, understanding clearly how pupils learn
- Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate pupil progress
- Assess the medical needs of the pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills from nurses to support the pupil's learning.
- Deliver learning activities adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.
- To provide medical support to the pupil where necessary with dignity at all times.
- Aid the pupil to learn as effectively as possible and to reach their full potential in whole class, group or individual situations.
- Ensuring the pupil is able to use equipment and materials provided.
- Motivating and encouraging pupils.
- Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture. Working with the pupil to foster their development as an independent learner
- Further duties to be tailored to need, relating to applicant skill set and direction from Executive Head
