Sous Chef - British Airways Lounges - Gatwick Airport

£17.25 per hour

Four on, two off shift pattern

Job Description

WHAT WILL KEEP YOU BUSY:

• Assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operation.
• Look at the planning of the monthly menus, ensuring smooth transitions and adequate stock levels.
• Consistently deliver the food offering according to the specifications and standards set by the Head Chef and management team.
• Manage, support and mentor the junior members in the kitchen team.
• Compile all food orders for your kitchens liaising with the Head Chef to ensure a full offer every day.
• Ensure stock, deliveries and wastage are all checked and recorded in line with company and food standards.
• Ensure that all Food Hygiene and Food Safety documentation is up to date and the relevant training is in place for the team.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Display a real passion for food and food service.
• Previous experience within a demanding kitchen at the relevant level.
• Team player with the ability to manage the team when the Head Chef is absent.
• Ability to manage the kitchen teams and build relationships with all the teams within the business.
• Compliant from both a Food Hygiene and Food Safety perspective
• Relevant

Note. This role is based at an airport and therefore requires proof of a valid passport / rights to work in the UK. We will be looking for a complete 5-year work / education history.

We operate a four on, two off shift pattern and as you will be working at an airport, this role will include early and late shifts (earliest being 04:00 start and latest being 14:00 start).
