Job description
The Data Platform Architecture Lead will provide direction and thought leadership on the strategic data platform transformation initiatives such as defining the new subscription strategy, aligning the data platform access and security management principles with Azure 2.0 to be implemented by Enterprise Cloud team. This lead will develop architecture patterns that will help Data and Analytics (DNA) platform to become a Mars Data Platform and support business segment, divisional, functional and regional data platform instances.
What are we looking for?
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field with strong experience or a Bachelor’s degree with strong experience
- Strong understanding of technology management principles with good understanding of cloud-based platforms and best practices in data and analytics
- Experience with resource management, deployment, access management, networking, resource isolation, high-availability, disaster-recovery for data platform services in Azure
- Experience in cloud data platform engineering covering ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Snowflake, Cosmos DB, Databricks, Event Hub
- Knowledge of Data Integration Concepts, Cloud Native Architecture concepts with focus on automation.
- Ability to keep up to date with Cloud offerings and solutions
- Ability to participate in multiple complex programs at the same time in an agile environment
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Development of technology strategy, patterns, reference architectures etc. for data platforms across the data lifecycle – Ingest, Store, Transform/Prepare, Serve/Analyse, Visualize and Govern.
- Evaluate technologies and platforms to identify best-fit for business needs
- Configure data platforms to support data solutions architecture patterns to enable business delivery
- Ensure compliance of platforms with Mars policies, security controls and network rules
- Ensure platforms is designed to address
- Access and Availability Management
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Resource Utilization and Cost assignment etc.
- Develop DevOps, Data pipelines, scripts etc. in support of agility and automation
- Ensure that data validation processes, data quality control standards, testing strategy, and test plans are applied to data applications
- Work with the Enterprise Architecture group and the Office of Information Security (OIS) to comply with relevant standards.
- Work with application team leads to refine and tighten the security framework and access control for internal and external information sharing, including secured/confidential information sharing.
- Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion
- Work with application team leads to develop governance processes for managing services (version control), support services, service migration, monitoring and evaluation of services.
- Contribute to the support and maintenance of existing body of data model and applications currently in production within the Analytics and Data landscape.
