Vendor Manager
Birmingham/Wiltshire
Salary – Experience Related + Company Car
Our client are an industry leading fleet management company, due to a period of continued growth over the past few years they are seeking an experienced vendor manager to join their team. The role would be hybrid and can be based in Birmingham or Wiltshire, the key responsibilities will be managing an extensive 3 rd party garage network across the UK.
Key Responsibilities – Vendor Manager
Service Delivery and Quality Assurance
- Work with the Engineering and Network manager and Fleet Engineers to Monitor and track the performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with vendors to develop and implement corrective action plans when performance issues are identified and own the company’s MOT pass rate process identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure regular meetings with key internal stakeholders ensuring that operational feedback is fed into supplier performance and identify trends and put in place corrective action plans
- Ensure national strategic suppliers provide overviews training and familiarisation training Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Vendor Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, acting as the primary point of escalation should day to day routines fail to resolve any areas of concern
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure clear understanding of our business requirements and service expectations.
- Work with procurement to conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to vendors to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain an awareness of market activities and trends in any work stream affecting the business, its customers, potential customers, supply chain and competitors
Vendor Performance Metrics and Reporting
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators and service levels for vendors, in alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.
- Work with Procurement to monitor subcontractor performance against established KPI’s/service levels, analyse trends, and prepare performance reports for senior management.
- Identify areas of improvement or risk within the vendor network and implement actions.
- Work with procurement to manage vendor’s costs and validate vendor’s charges to ensure alignment to contracts.
Vendor Onboarding and Compliance
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely onboarding of new vendors. Ensuring all new vendors are fully trained and capable of using company systems
- Conduct initial assessments of vendor’s capabilities, resources, and technical expertise to ensure suitability for our business needs.
- Regularly review subcontractors' insurance, licenses, certifications, and other compliance requirements to ensure ongoing adherence to standards.
- Ensure that vendors abide by, work towards and support our customer base to have safe, legal and compliant assets.
Qualifications & Experience – Vendor Manger
- Relevant engineering and technical/maintenance experience of greater than 5 years in the fleet industry
- To have held a senior operational role/position as either an Operator or Fleet Professional
- To have or to work towards industry recognized accreditation for engineering/fleet/motor association Experience of working within a quality, process driven environment with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
