Job description
Our well established client who provides housing services is looking for a Planned Maintenance Operative/Painter to cover the Kent area.
Reporting to the Head of Property Services, the jobholder will be responsible for undertaking both responsive and planned maintenance/painting tasks to properties within the business. This role involves working from home with daily travel to carry out maintenance and painting in the properties where Service Users reside.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
Carry out tasks in occupied and empty properties such as the following:
- Painting & Decorating: Carry out a range of painting and redecoration tasks including prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding and steam cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls and joinery by applying fillers/sealant. Prepare/sand surface for application of decorative product.
- Clean and Clear: Ensure all areas are clean and free from debris upon completion of the above tasks in accordance with the company standard. To ensure all accommodation is clean and fit for purpose. To ensure company procedures are adhered to and all cleaning records are completed and up to date.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Previous property maintenance/painting experience
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Software
- High degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information
- A full UK driving licence is required
SALARY, BENEFITS AND HOURS:
- £22,050 increasing to £24,476 after 6 month probation
- Company van will be provided or you can use your own van and receive a £4,000 allowance
- Mileage expenses (claimable from home)
- Mon-Fri 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm
- 33 days annual leave per annum (25 days plus bank holidays)
