Job description

Morgan Hunt is working with a Housing Association who are looking at recruiting a Financial Accountant to assist whilst the main audit is being completed. The perfect candidate will support the delivery of a comprehensive and professional accounting function to the rest of the team. This 6-month temporary hybrid role is based in Didsbury with an hourly rate of £27.47 PAYE.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

• To maintain a system of quality assurance over financial processes both within the department and across the wider business
• Production of financial information for statutory and regulatory financial returns
• To undertake quality checks on financial information produced by the finance team
• To produce and / or review balance sheet reconciliations
• To oversee elements of centrally controlled journals and processing, including interfaces with non -finance systems as required

Previous Skills and Experience of the Financial Accountant :

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification or studying towards the qualification
• Experience within a finance setting, ideally within a regulated environment
• Experience of manipulating large volumes of data for multiple scenarios
• Assisting the Head of Financial Services with control reviews and Liaise with tax advisors over tax treatments and for corporation tax calculations
• Assist with the production of financial information for statutory accounts for year end, and quarterly soft closes
