Job Title : Programme Leader
Location : Spalding
Salary : £29,500 - £31,700
Role Overview :
The Programme Leader role is responsible for leading the planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum that effectively prepares all learners to be successful in their intended next steps. The Programme Leader will work in close partnership with the Head of Curriculum and Engagement to plan, develop and maintain an engaging learning environment and to provide line management to delivery staff whilst maintaining a fractional teaching responsibility. Drawing upon their significant delivery experience, the Programme Leader will be involved in shaping and influencing the content of the curriculum to ensure that it develops learners’ subject specific and wider skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide consistently high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that models the company’s high standards and aspirations and leads to excellent outcomes for all learners.
- Ensure that all learners receive appropriate and effective support, advice, and guidance throughout their programme, including pastoral and academic support where needed.
- Work with colleagues to identify and respond to the needs of specific learner groups, such as those with additional learning needs, and to ensure that their needs are met effectively.
- Implement and drive compliance with systems for learner progress tracking, monitoring, and reporting, and use this information to identify and address any issues or concerns.
- Work with colleagues to develop and deliver a range of enrichment activities and other opportunities to enhance the learner experience.
- Provide effective line management of the programme team, ensuring that all employees are clear on their roles and responsibilities, and that team members are appropriately supported and developed.
- Support the development and maintenance of the learning environment including in relation to facilities and resources to ensure a high-quality, industry standard learning experience.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employers, partner organisations, and funding bodies.
- Work in close partnership with the Head of Curriculum and Engagement to develop and implement a high-quality, innovative, and responsive curriculum that meets the needs of learners and employers.
- Ensure that the curriculum is delivered effectively and efficiently by employees, using a range of appropriate teaching and learning strategies, technologies, and resources.
- Regularly review and update the curriculum in response to changing industry needs, learner feedback, outcomes, destinations and other relevant factors.
- Collaborate with employers and other partners to co-design and co-create a curriculum that is relevant and up-to-date, and to develop opportunities for work experience and other forms of industry engagement.
Essential/Desirable Criteria :
- English and mathematics qualifications at level 2 or above
- Significant experience of delivering teaching, learning and assessment to young people in the Further Education and Skills sector
- Knowledge and application of contemporary teaching theory and practice
- Experience of curriculum design and development
- Knowledge of the Further Education and Skills sector and the related funding and regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge and experience of quality and regulatory frameworks and practices including Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework
- Experience of collaborative working and joint practice development to drive and inform continuous improvement
- Experience of coaching, mentoring and/or supporting employees to drive improvement and development
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, including legislation and guidance, and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure the safety and wellbeing of learners, particularly those who may be vulnerable or at risk
