Job description
We are currently seeking an Assistant Technical Manager (Maternity Cover) to join our clients dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our food safety and quality standards are consistently met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with quality systems, procedures, and regulations, including BRC requirements and customer standards.
Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS) and HACCP system, and assist in writing procedures and risk assessments.
Support the Technical Manager during customer and third-party audits to achieve top grades.
Assist the Export team in completing technical documents in a timely manner.
Support the day-to-day management of technical staff, including spec technologists, technicians, QA/QC’s, and the hygiene team.
Investigate and document customer complaints and plant-related quality and safety queries.
Liaise and support other departments with technical queries, including Production, Engineering, NPD, and Sales.
Key Skills:
Level 3 HACCP certification and strong knowledge of BRC standards are essential.
Degree in a food-related discipline is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with customer compliance systems and requirements, such as Booker compliance, Brakes Assure, Smart Supplier, and Traqtion.
Proactive problem-solving skills with attention to detail, even under pressure.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
