Position : Production Manager

Location : Hull
Salary : £40,000 - £45,000
Day Shift = Monday – Thursday 7.00am – 3.00pm & Friday 7.00am – 12.30pm
Our client has an opportunity for a Production Manager working the day shift. The Production Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that day to day operations of the production lines run efficiently. As a Production Manager you will be responsible for managing hour by hour production within the area, ensuring the team achieves and meets their targets and operational effectiveness is maximized.
Main duties:
Effectively manage the teams and contribute to shift and plant level success.
Responsible for ensuring engagement and morale of the team.
To ensure compliance with safe practices and systems of work, company Health & Safety policies and procedures. In addition, further improvement in compliance will be attained through risk assessment, safety audit and accident/incident/near miss investigation and/or reporting.
To ensure that the highest standards of quality are delivered through application of quality procedures and quality audit. To have and promote an understanding of ISO standards and requirements.
Manage resources (materials, machines, people) in order to meet customer requirements through the production schedule. This will include where appropriate, setting of material locations and limits and overtime management.
To lead and/or be a part of projects. From establishing the scope of the project to collaborating with other individuals and/or departments to fully accomplish the desired objective.
To demonstrate the ability to develop skills within a team through rotation and training and promote flexibility throughout the workforce, whilst instilling a positive attitude throughout a team.
About you:
Strong decision making and planning skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Vocational and non-vocational qualifications will be considered on application. ILM (Institute of Leadership and management) Level 3 or equivalent is preferable.
Minimum of 2 years’ previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment at supervisory/management level.
Strong leadership skills and previous experience of leading a large team of employees.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to demonstrate strong people management skills.
Knowledge of modern management practices
Management and development of employees
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
Experience of working within a Lean Environment
Strong health and safety knowledge coupled with knowledge of production techniques and processes and the ability to deliver organisational KPI’s.
A proven record of identifying and developing future talent.
