Job description

The PMO Finance Assistant role sits within our Finance Change team and will support the provision of Financial and Benefits Management. You will work with and support Finance, Project Stakeholders, Technology, and external parties to ensure they receive the financial support needed to ensure their projects deliver on time and within budget. You will be responsible for: Supporting the Finance and Benefits Manager in all Financial activities. In collaboration with the project managers, prepare Periodic and Annual reports Use a fact-based approach to prepare and submit Monthly accruals Review, check, and submit Monthly re-charges Provide expert support to Project Managers assisting them in unpicking monthly financial variances Guide the Project Managers ensuring the monthly financial process is followed Prepare Month-end reporting packs for Governance Forums and key stakeholders Collate the data for use in Annual and Long-Term planning of projects Maintain project Forecast files and SharePoint/Teams folders Tracking Project Benefits using SharePoint data collated from Project Managers Other tasks as required

Quantifiable experience in Project Benefits Management Previous experience of working with financial data using a PPM tool Demonstrative organisational skills gained from working in a PMO environment Strong MS Office skills including Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and other Collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint etc Must be proficient in utilising PPM tools and technologies with experience of using Planview being desirable Strong analytical skills and a fundamental grasp of the financial processes associated with projects and programmes Demonstrative experience of working in an Accounting or Financial role Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles including a thorough understanding of the Accruals process Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Customer facing role) Excellent numeracy skills What's in it for you: We offer excellent benefits that help make Tesco a great place to work!
