Future’s Technology vertical comprises a diverse set of brands and products that cater for an equally diverse range of consumer technology audience segments – from PC components to hi-fi. Our digital brands include TechRadar and Tom’s Guide, and account for over one billion website visits each year; while our magazine brands include Computeractive, the UK’s best-selling computing title. We’re looking for a talented business development professional with a passion for tech to help take our market-leading brands to fresh heights. Working closely with the Managing Director of the vertical you’ll own the P&L management and the implementation of our portfolio strategy across digital, print and events. What you'll be doing... Not only will you manage a set of iconic tech brands, but you’ll also lead the editorial teams reporting into you. Strong management skills and a deep understanding of the editorial process will be vital ingredients for success. You’ll also have a track record of identifying new opportunities for growth and executing on them, with a tireless focus on driving value. Stakeholder management skills are also essential because a key aspect of the role will involve collaborating with internal and external partners to develop the portfolio and achieve revenue and profit goals. Key responsibilities include; Deliver budget and long term revenue and profit targets – P&L ownership, including budget and re-forecasting (in partnership with stakeholders) Drive profitability through diversifying portfolio revenues in multiple channels, with a focus on innovation, data and insight Continually maximise efficiencies through a ‘business as usual’ approach to cost reduction, streamlined workflows and an ambition to produce cost neutral content Partner with internal stakeholders (Advertising, Marketforce, Affiliates etc) to drive incremental revenue opportunities through existing activity areas Assist the MD in driving the content strategy for the portfolio, developing brands and services to take maximum revenue from target audience across all platforms Experience that will put you ahead of the curve... You’ll be a strategic business thinker, with strong commercial expertise and a proven entrepreneurial mindset At least three years in a general manager/publisher role with P&L experience/accountability Proven leadership and influencing skills, within a matrix organisation, with the authority and credibility to harness/challenge wider company, and a strong desire for change A strong understanding of your vertical’s subject matter and associated audiences A strong understanding of editorial operations and culture, with ability to positively influence key stakeholders Superb managerial and planning skills, with experience of managing multiple brands and people In-depth knowledge of all the key content distribution channels Excellent communication, presentation and personal skills Experience of managing budgets across multiple titles What's in it for you… We have a number of awesome perks available to our staff.
