Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location:

East Midlands, Nottinghamshire, West Bridgford

Salary:

£80 - £90 Per day

Job Duties:

1. Providing support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.

2. Assisting the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.

3. Supporting students with SEN during structured learning activities and free play.

4. Collaborating with the SENCO and other staff members to create a positive learning environment for students with SEN.

5. Monitoring and recording the progress of students with SEN and reporting back to the class teacher.

Required Qualifications:

- Relevant experience working with children or individuals with SEN

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Patience and empathy when working with students with diverse learning needs

Education:

- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

- Understanding of SEN and different learning styles

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Basic knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

- Teaching Assistant qualification

- Additional training in supporting students with SEN

Working Conditions:

- Work primarily takes place in a classroom setting

- May involve some physical activity with students

- Temporary position with the possibility of extension

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
