Tax Manager

£80,000 - £90,000 + circa 20% bonus, private healthcare, a generous pension and some other excellent benefits

The Company

My client is a large and nationally recognised financial services business who are known for being one of the UK's 'great places to work', having won multiple awards. They are headquartered in the West Midlands and offer up to 80% home working.

The Role

As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for taxation activities and tax risk management, which includes insurance and financial services businesses, UK-wide sales distribution, international investment, and investment property activities.

You will also provide an overall assessment of corporate tax provisions, tax payments and regulatory reporting that reflect the activities and ensure compliance across all Taxation Regulatory and Statutory requirements.

You will inherit a driven and focused team. You will have exposure to senior managers and tax-related professionals across various areas of the business, as well as managing and working with external stakeholders, including HMRC and Tax and Legal Advisors, in relation to key strategic initiatives.

The Person

• Senior-level Tax professional who brings experience in dealing with complex tax affairs, ideally within the Financial or Insurance sector, to the role.
• You must have strong leadership skills and confidently embrace line management responsibilities.
• Must possess professional or technical qualifications, including ACCA, CIMA, and/or professional tax qualifications.
• Experience working with and having specific knowledge of direct and/or indirect taxes.
• Ability to effectively communicate and explain complex technical issues to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in managing HMRC relationships for various corporate taxes, for example, corporation tax or VAT.
