The Peninsula London is seeking an experienced Head of Health & Hygiene, responsible for The Peninsula London overall health and safety aspects of guests, employees, contractors, and visitors through comprehensive strategy implementation.

Key accountabilities

• Exceeds guest expectations with service, in keeping with the Peninsula Service Principles, focusing on the core principles. Looks for improvement for better service standard with a general theme of anticipating the guests' needs.
• Responsible for developing Health and Safety, Hygiene and Food Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation, HSH OSHMS standards, industry best practices, local regulations and codes.
• Ensures that all Health and Safety, Hygiene, Sanitation and Food Safety policies are being implemented, understood, routinely assessed, improved upon and well-maintained through a solid document control & audit system.  Scope of audits to include all operational departments and physical areas of the hotel where guests or employees are present.

General requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in similar capacity as OSH, Health & Hygiene Manager.
• Diploma in Food Science / Chemistry / Biology / Biochemistry / Microbiology and equivalent work experience and a relevant/related nationally recognized safety & health professional certification required such as NEBOSH
• Solid understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices. Understanding of biochemistry. Good knowledge in using chemicals and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety including best practices and emerging trends; Knowledge of safety systems and their implementation;
• Fluent English communication proficiency. Expertise in a second language would be desirable.
