The role
Job Type: Fulltime, Permanent
Location: Salisbury
We are looking for a talented product designer to join our Salisbury Design Studio. You will work in the product design team supported by a Team Leader and Product Design Lead.
The product design team helps inventors and start-ups from the UK, Europe, and the US to develop a variety of product ideas including consumer products, electronic products, and sustainable products.
- Work directly with clients to develop product ideas from initial concept to prototyping, manufacturing development, and all the way to a successful launch
- Consider the product’s customer, functionality, and manufacturing costs to create solutions with a strong product-market fit
- Learn how to apply our advanced process to create fantastic design work, fast
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a driven product designer ready for an exciting start to their career. Does this sound like you?
- Curiosity about how things work and how they were made
- Strong desire to improve your design skills and learn the best new ways to develop products
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly injection moulding, metal fabrication, and rapid prototyping
- Good knowledge of materials, particularly plastics, metals, and woods
- Experience making functional prototypes (some electronics is a bonus)
- Strong 3d modelling skills, ideally with Solidworks
- Good rendering skills, ideally in Keyshot
- Photoshop, Illustrator InDesign, and other Adobe Creative Suite software experience
- Strong presentation and communication skills

What we offer
Salary: £20,000-£24,000 per year depending on experience
