Job description
BEDEO is an inspiring and fast growing "Electrification of Transportation" company with a building momentum and presence in Europe. In this respect, BEDEO is active in design, manufacturing and contract-manufacturing, service and commercialization of electric vehicles, its core components and beyond. The commercial business in Europe is headquartered in the UK with Commercial offices in France and the Netherlands respectively. BEDEOs business model is well-equipped with a portfolio of products and services to offer e-mobility solutions to both corporate and individual clients.
BEDEO has been selected by the Stellantis Group to electrify its large van range Peugeot e-Boxer, Citroen e-Relay, Vauxhall/Opel Movano-e. BEDEO considerably reinforced its technological footprint in late 2021 through the acquisition of the global leader in In-wheel Motor technology, Protean Electric. Protean is based in the UK with tech and production centres in China.
The Company is investing in three main business lines to build its strategy of offering an electric mobility solution adapted to the needs of the circular economy:
- Drive Electric : 100% electric vehicles serving a wide variety of applications for transporting of both cargo and passengers. All vehicles are built to meet the highest standards in quality, safety and reliability. This is underlined by an ISO certified Manufacturing process and an EU type approval certification. Key clients include major delivery & logistics fleets such as DHL, DPD or DB Schenker, or specialized needs such as large food retailers or tipper vans for city centres.
- Build Electric : Electrification experts with a broad experience of the integration of proprietary electric powertrains (drivetrain + battery) into any vehicle. Once the performance parameters of clients electrified vehicle are defined and agreed, BEDEO designs and develops the system to match their needs. After building and validating several prototypes BEDEO is also involved in the homologation of the clients electric vehicles for the markets in which they operate.
- Convert Electric : building a new business unit to launch a sustainable solution to fleet LCV clients looking to meet EU and UK requirements to electrify existing diesel fleets at a competitive cost and value proposition.
The BEDEO Convert Electric business is a gamechanger in a market with low new electric van availability and high prices. The decision to move out of diesel by 2035 has been announced in Europe, however the roadmap is unclear, in particular for Light Commercial Vehicles which are all powered today by diesel engines. The Company asked BaanClaesen -Automotive search for managing the hiring process of the vacant position of: Key Account Manager.
The Key Account Manager will lead and drive forward new business / client acquisition in the UK and Ireland, as we launch the new business to the market networks.
Job location: - UK Based in Farnham, Surrey, with frequent trips in the UK
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for growing the Convert Electric Sales in the UK
- Promotes direct sales with relevant corporate fleets
- Develops a network of significant resellers to grow an indirect channel for this business.
- Manages Stellantis as a key account, contributing to deliver the volume potential
- Develops a strong pipeline of potential business
- Leverages your network to identify and activate the opportunities to promote the business in the identified market
- Identifies large potential re-sellers for the business in the high potential areas
- Promotes the BEDEO brand in all the relevant events and communicates regularly BEDEO success or features to his/her network
- Develops a precise knowledge of the local market dynamics, the transaction pricing and regulation frameworks
Scope of work & organization
- You will become responsible for the New Business sales & acquisition in the UK (& Ireland)
- You will report directly to the Head of Sales and Chief Commercial Officer
Your profile:
- Most important is to understand BEDEO is a scale up organisation
- You really enjoy creating new business, you are target driven and are focused on results
- University degree in Business management or Marketing. In addition, a technical or engineering degree is a plus
- Sales and business development experience in Commercial vehicles, Light Commercial vehicles or services, or in the Last Mile sector
- Knowledge of the second-hand van market is a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of the stakeholders in the converter market markets with similar dynamics (custom made, B2B, small series, regulatory dimension)
- Native English speaker
- Has worked in lean and agile structures (start up experience is desirable)
- Strong track record of sales results and/or business development achievements
- Computer literate (Microsoft office applications)
- Experience of working within a target-driven and motivated environment
