Westacre Middle School is looking to recruit a committed and passionate Pastoral Lead, who will work closely as a member of our Inclusion Team and lead our thriving pastoral team on a day to day basis. We require an enthusiastic, dedicated person who has excellent communication skills. The role is to support and make a difference to the lives of all children at the school and work closely with children who have behaviour, emotional and social vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, understanding and have a passion for making a difference. This is a varied position with no two days being the same, so the ability to manage and prioritise your workload is essential. The pastoral lead will help organise a program of bespoke pastoral interventions to address the needs of our pupils. They will liaise with senior members of staff to identify children who are in need of additional support. It is anticipated that the pastoral lead will also become part of the school’s safeguarding team as a deputy DSL. The successful candidate will work in and out of the classroom to ensure that children’s learning is maximised to its potential.
We are looking for an individual who:
Has experience of supporting vulnerable and challenging children.
Can work with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups and is able to act as listener, facilitator for learning, encourager, motivator and role model.
Is solution focussed and not afraid of new challenges.
Has the interpersonal skills and warmth to build strong and supportive relationships with our children, families, team and community.
Understands the importance of accountability and is able to evidence the impact of his/her work.
Can manage the day to day running of the Pastoral room.
Support Year Leaders with administrating our behaviour systems
