Job description

Subsea7 have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Planner (Crewing) to join our Project & Offshore Operations (P&OO) team based at our office in Westhill, Aberdeen on a full-time, staff basis.

The Lead Planner (DSV Fleet) will have operational oversight of offshore personnel primarily within the diving resource pool of the offshore workforce and personnel from other offshore pool allocated to the DSV Fleet. This is a vital role within the crewing team and will provide functional support and guidance to the crew coordination teams, the vessel teams and operations management to ensure the DSV fleet is crewed.

You will coordinate the offshore personnel by monitoring forecast demand and optimising a network of directly engaged and agency personnel, ensuring that there is a supply of offshore personnel sufficient to the short, medium and long term requirements of the business.

As a subject matter expert understanding the training requirements for the designated resource pool, the Lead Planner will provide guidance to the crewing team and provide input to the programme management of major changes in vessel location or operations, such as a significant change to the number of crewing required on the vessel.

What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role and some of the main responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

In conjunction with Crewing Co-ordinators, plan and implement the deployment of offshore personnel within the pool in line with strategic manning models, engaging as necessary with territory operations, vessel management and other relevant stakeholders.
Regularly engage with relevant functions and stakeholder such as L&D, HR, and offshore management on key areas of development, i.e., training requirements for the pool, succession development, performance management and recruitment.
Monitor and maximise the utilisation of staff against their contract days, balancing the use of day-rate, and agency personnel.
Understand the pool financially in terms of its budgeted and forecast net costs.

Relevant level of experience within a crewing coordination/planning role, ideally of diving personnel.
Understanding of the Offshore Energy Industry including the processes required to mobilise and travel personnel to international offshore worksites.
Understanding of the technical aspects within the allocated pool and the competencies/ training required for offshore roles within them.
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external.
Organised, with an ability to prioritise workload during periods of high volume, as well as conflicting and changing priorities. Due to the operational nature of the role this may require occasional working outside of regular hours.
Good level of IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data base systems
