The schoolfor Special Education is seeking a motivated and compassionate Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our exceptional team. Located in the heart of East London, our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support and assistance to students with SEN, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Deliver small group and one-on-one instruction based on individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Promote independence, social skills, and emotional well-being among students.
* Assist in the development and implementation of differentiated learning activities.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create a comprehensive support network.
* Monitor student progress, record observations, and provide feedback to the teaching team.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates each student's achievements.
* Contribute to the overall school community and participate in school events and activities.
Requirements:
* Relevant experience working with students with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
* A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of SEN and a commitment to promoting inclusive education.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
* Knowledge of relevant educational tools, resources, and technologies.
* Flexibility and the willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
