Learning Support Assistant with SEND About Us: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant with experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join a primary school, a vibrant and inclusive primary school. Learning Support Assistant with SEND Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant with SEND, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support to students with special educational needs throughout our primary school. Working under the guidance of the SENCO and classroom teachers, you Learning Support Assistant with SEND
will assist in implementing individualised education plans and providing one-on-one support to students with a range of learning needs.
Learning Support Assistant with SEND Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-on-one Learning Support Assistant with SEND and small group support to students with SEND, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and personal development across all year groups in our primary school.
- Collaborate with the SENCO, classroom teachers, and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support strategies tailored to the needs of primary school students.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for primary-aged learners.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their learning journey from Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2.
- As a Learning Support Assistant with SEND you will need to monitor students' progress and provide regular feedback to the SENCO and classroom teachers, identifying areas for additional support or intervention as needed across the primary school.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and observations, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures in the primary school setting.
Learning Support Assistant with SEND Requirements: - Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Understanding of different types of special educational needs and disabilities, as well as strategies for supporting primary school students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with primary school students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with SEND in a primary school environment.
- Relevant qualifications in education, SEN support, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
