Garment Technologist / Quality Controller

Job description
Jenny Packham has an exciting opportunity for a Garment Technologist/QC to join the team in our London studio.
Suitable applicants will have a good understanding of luxury products, including construction, fabric, print and embellishment techniques along with garment performance, including fabric testing, the interpretation of test reports and a knowledge of product compliance.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Attend seasonal fit meetings and ensure all SMS Sample comments are implemented in production as advised by development team.
- Create detailed technical pack specifications for suppliers to follow during preproduction and production to ensure garments are to the required construction and finishing always considering the design aesthetic.
- Work closely with embellishment team and grader to ensure we meet our critical path dates.
- Communicate all required technical information to supplier including graded files, spec sheets and embellishment information.
- Adhere to seasonal critical path dates and flag any delays.
- Ensure that any processes such as beading motifs, panel work, printing, lay plans etc. are clearly communicated to and understood by supplier.
- Ensure all PreProduction samples are measures and checked for quality, be proactive in resolving any issues and implement solutions liaising with wider team where necessary.
- Communicate all PPS comments to supplier providing corrective action plan where necessary.
- Quality control size set ensuring accuracy of measurements and conformity.
- Work with our offshore quality control team to ensure that bulk production reaches the required standard (AQL)
- Advise packing requirements and ensure all garment labelling is accurate and compliant.
- Monitor in season customer returns and suggest ways to minimize the risk of reoccurring problems.
- Log and arrange repair of all ecom returns.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, making factory visit when necessary.
- Manage testing program, reviewing reports and suggesting any follow up actions.
Who we are looking for:
- Garment technologist with experience in high-end business
- A minimum of 2 years of garment technology experience
- Knowledge of pattern cutting and garment construction methods.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Able to work under pressure and to change direction with agility.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- SharePoint knowledge is desirable.
