Job Title: NCS Youth Engagement Coordinator

Location: Ealing and Hounslow and surrounding areas.

Salary: per annum depending on experience full time post

Reports to: NCS Manager

NCS Engagement Coordinator

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust (BFCCST) is looking to recruit a highly motivated enthusiastic and passionate individual to join the NCS team and support the development of our NCS Programme. Ensuring we promote engage and prepare young people for the programme allowing it to become a key core component of our local offer for young people aged 1517 years old. The successful candidate will have the drive determination and passion to empower young people to become young leaders and create a positive impact on their community.


Purpose of the Role :

The NCS Youth Engagement Coordinator will lead on all aspects of the NCS Community Experience Programme and associated activity including the set up and delivery of the programme. Ensuring that the programme is high quality and meets the requirements/delivery schedule as set out by key partners London Youth and NCS Trust.

The NCS Youth Engagement Coordinator will take a lead on designing and developing the NCS curriculum working with local stakeholders/ partners designing and implementing a clear youth recruitment and engagement strategy and planning key programme logistics.

The role will include delivery of the NCS Community Experience programme including leading staff teams of young people and facilitating delivery of the curriculum

Main responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholder such as schools and colleges local authorities local community organisations and other key stakeholders to promote the NCS Community Experience recruit participants and collaborate on delivery activities.

2. Develop implement and lead on a recruitment and engagement strategy to recruit and retain young people on to the NCS programme.

3. Design plan and deliver a high quality and innovative programme of activities for the NCS Community Experience programme ensuring submission deadlines and agreed content are adhered to.

4. Lead cohorts of young people through every phase of the NCS Community Experience Programme. Supervise take responsibility for the pastoral care and ensure safety needs of the young people are always met.

5. Engage and build positive relationships with young people to provide effective support mentoring and coaching on a onetoone and group basis where needed.

6. Deliver presentations and other agreed recruitment events (e.g. assemblies PSHE lessons lunch time stalls) to secondary schools nonmainstream schools colleges and other organisations that engage the 1517 age group.

7. Liaise with schools and colleges to design and deliver bespoke school/college programme activities.

8. Record and Monitor programme partner and participant data using the relevant CRM systems ensuring all data is kept up to date.

9. Lead on programme logistics including planning external booking and sourcing venues facilitators outdoor activity hires transport resources risk assessment and other associated logistics.

10. Ensure all administration tasks are completed accurately and within allocated time scales including handling personal data managing expenses and petty cash safeguarding reporting and risk assessments.

11. Support the Senior Manager in recruitment training and supervision of sessional delivery staff.

12. Achieve weekly and monthly targets as set out by the Senior Manager and regularly provide reports and monitoring information.

13. Attend regular supervision sessions team & organisation meetings and complete compulsory training to enable all duties to be carried out effectively.

14. Collaborate with other Coordinators to ensure a united approach to delivering sessions and supporting the team.

15. To understand and comply with all policies and procedures in line with Trust and contractual responsibilities including the safeguarding of the young people GDPR health and safety and EDI.

16. Deputise for the Senior Manager when appropriate.

17. Work closely with the Manager Coordinators Youth Workers Coaches and community partners to support the young people on the programme.

18. Fulfil any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the Senior Manager

19. Work flexible hours including regular evenings and weekends when require

Personal Specification

Essential

Qualifications and experience

1. Graduate degree level and/or Youth Work qualification or strong relevant experience.

2. Demonstrable experience (normally at least 2 years) of working with young people (particularly 1517year olds) and an understanding of the current challenges they face.

3. Experience of leading planning and delivering highquality programmes and/or activities for groups of young people in an education and/or outdoor setting.

4. Experience of inspiring and motivating young people from a variety of cultural economic and social backgrounds.

5. Experience and/or good knowledge of working with secondary schools colleges and/or the local authorities.

6. A Safeguarding and First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training.

Skills Knowledge and ability

1. Ability to relate well to young people from a wide range of backgrounds and engage them in activities which support their development.

2. Demonstrable understanding of NCS both regionally and nationally.

3. Ability to communicate and engage with young people aged 1517 and their parents/guardians sensitively and confidently in both large groups and individual settings.

4. Good knowledge and understanding of social action & youth leadership and how these can create a positive impact on the community.

5. A proven track record of managing relationships with stakeholders and the ability to communicate with people at different levels.

6. Ability to work as part of a team and take the lead where necessary providing clear instructions for staff and volunteers to enable them to achieve desired outcomes and the required standards

7. A strong work ethic excellent time management skills and motivated to work towards targets.

8. Excellent communication skills including written telephone and interpersonal skills.

9. Excellent planning organisation and administrative skills.

10. Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment creative adaptable and responsive to changing situations.

11. IT literate with particular emphasis on Microsoft and CRM packages

12. Knowledge of and a commitment to safeguarding health and safety equality and diversity and data protection in relation to working in the community and youth work environment.

13. Willingness to regularly travel within the allocated work areas and occasionally residentially to fulfil programme outcomes.

14. Willingness to work flexible hours as this role will involve some weekend and evening commitments.

Desirable

1. Good knowledge of the local area and demographics (Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs)

2. Experience of working in partnership with young people or diverse community organizations to amplify youth voice.

3. Alternative professional qualifications directly related to working with young people and children in a formal or nonformal setting.

4. Ability to adapt curriculum sessions to support young people with additional support needs.

5. The ability to positively influence others and highlight benefits to a variety of audience.

6. Ability to present to large audiences and to adapt presentation style to the audience.

7. Previous experience of NCS as a staff member volunteer.

8. A full driving license and access to own car.

The Appointment

The appointment will be full time and is available immediately upon the receipt of two acceptable references and the submission of an enhanced Criminal Records Check to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The appointment will be confirmed upon receipt of the DBS check.
