South East England | United Kingdom

Job description

About the role

Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play.

Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical Design Manager as part of the Connect Plus Services (CPS) team based in South Mimms, Leatherhead or Dartford (preferable).

As a Mechanical & Electrical Design Manager, you will be responsible for the management and provision of cost-effective design solutions to maintain or improve the M25 structures assets (tunnels) to the standards agreed. This will involve reviewing, leading and managing mechanical and electrical systems design undertaken by external consultants. You will need to ensure that we deliver the outcomes agreed with National Highways to programme and budget, and to meet Connect Plus Services (CPS) quality standards.

Personal attributes:

Why work for us

CPS is a Joint Venture project with Balfour Beatty, AtkinsR alis, and Egis. We operate and maintain the M25. The M25 is the busiest section of motorway in Europe and requires careful and efficient planning of work in order to deliver over 100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity.

If you have or are looking for a career in Highways, working on the M25 will give you experience and challenge that no other Highways project can offer.
